Balloons Links
part of Balloons
In homage to all of the great web pages of the early nineties, here
is a list of balloon-oriented links
Community
- Balloon HQ, because
every balloon links page is required, by law, to have a Balloon HQ
link. Be sure to subscribe to the mailing list. I get the digest
form, so once a day I get a dose of intelligent balloon discussion
- The
Yahoo Baloon Entertainers Club. There are some
cool pictures in the picture books, but the message system is very
lame. I haven't participated in a chat yet.
Individuals
- Balloon Hats. Addi Somekh
travelled the world making cool balloon hats for the natives. This is
source material for Addi's book The inflatable Crown.
- Magical Balloon Dude. First hit
when I searched on google. There may be some good content here, but the
dhtml tricks really get in the way. I did the "jump throug the hoops to
get the password to the balloon instructions" thing, but the page that
accepts the password seems horribly borken. There's also no obvious
email address to ask for assistance.
- Balloonatix
Entertainers Online Newsletter. There's some interesting articles
there. What's bizarre is they don't have back issues up (even though
current articles refer to previous ones.) The owners of the site will
mail you word docs for the back issues. (why they don't just leave
the back issues up, I don't know)
Vendors
- T. Myers Magic, because
every balloon links page is required, by law, to have a T Myers
link. This is where I've been spending most of my disposable
income lately. Lots of balloons. Lots of books. Lots of viedos.
Lots of clown gear. Lots of pumps. In general, lots of stuff.
- Twistem Up.
They make a really really nice line of balloon aprons. Lots of pockets
for stuff, a cool velcro mechanism for holding your uninflated balloons,
the quality of the workpersonship is phenominally good, and the service
is excellent (they expedited an order to me for a gig that suddenly
appeared)
- Balloon
Designs - with a twist!, Royal and Patty Sorrel's balloon decorating
business pages. I have a couple of their viedos (which are really good)
- Dewey's Good News Balloons, page of Ralph Dewey, balloon twisting luminary.
